Just Kids Academy International School, founded in 2021 by Mrs. Shara L. Bartlett, is an elite, all-inclusive institution utilizing an international standard curriculum designed to empower children with a global perspective and prepare them for the future of the Bahamas. We emphasize respect for each child as a unique individual, prioritizing teamwork, spiritual growth, and quality care. While the school strives for excellence, it is not equipped to accommodate Deaf or disabled children. The school's core belief centers around the impactful role of educators in a child's development, shaping all aspects of the academy's approach to education.  We, symbolized by our mascot, the Phoenix Bird (representing power and rebirth), symbolize its rebirth and commitment to strength and resilience. We practice teamwork, spiritual growth, and quality care, believing in the profound impact of caregivers on a child's development.

Hello, I'm Shara Bartlett, the founder and owner of Just Kids Academy. As a wife and mother of two, I understand the importance of providing a nurturing and enriching environment for children. With 17 years dedicated to early education, I'm passionate about fostering a

love of learning through play. Our motto here reflects that wholeheartedly! I believe that young minds are incredibly

absorbent, which is why I'm committed to filling them with the knowledge and experiences they need to thrive in the

future. Just Kids Academy is a licensed and registered facility where I provide an interactive international curriculum

catering from Nursery 1 to Pre-K4, guaranteeing each child receives an enriching foundation. I have placed in my

curriculum a wide array of extracurriculars like ballet, swimming, karate, and gymnastics to cater to all students.

 I pride myself on our high standards of academic and developmental care. All hired teachers are highly qualified and

CPR certified. I always ensure that we are providing the best practices and training to the students in our care.

I also embrace multilingualism, with Tagalog, Spanish, and Mandarin integrated  into our curriculum from infancy."

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Just Kids Academy International embraces a John Dewey-inspired philosophy, emphasizing experiential learning, active participation, and the recognition of each child as a unique individual.  We believe children thrive when learning through hands-on activities, play, and creative expression.  Learning is most effective through direct experience and active engagement.  Each child is unique and deserves recognition for their special qualities.  Our programs focus on the growth of the whole child - intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically. We adhere to high standards in creating programs tailored to each child's developmental stage.  We foster a supportive relationship between children, their families, and our caregivers/teachers. We aim to develop school readiness skills and cultivate a love of learning, problem-solving, and decision-making, empowering children to reach their full potential.

In our studies of successful child care arrangements, I have found that there are six (6) common traits. They are:​

Our curriculum is structured around thematic units of study, such as 'Exploring Our Community' or 'The Wonders of Nature,' with activities carefully designed to reinforce key concepts and promote holistic development. Guided by Montessori principles, activities encourage self-directed exploration and discovery, allowing children to learn at their own pace. Through play-based learning, children engage in experiments, imitate real-world scenarios, ask insightful questions, and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. God's love and dependability are woven into the fabric of our daily interactions, creating a nurturing and supportive environment. Student progress is assessed at the end of each term through evaluations that measure key developmental milestones."         ​
